Our client is a premium digital advertising company based in Zurich, Switzerland, empowering publishers to maximize their ad effectiveness across websites and mobile apps and increase customers’ ROI. Their platform expertly markets over 360 websites, reaching more than 14 million unique users monthly across Switzerland through innovative digital branding in native, video, and performance formats.

The solution uses RTB (real-time bidding)—a fast, automated process for buying and selling digital advertising space. This streamlines ad placement and management, secures high-value advertisements, and ensures publishers’ ad inventory is consistently filled.

To maintain their leadership and keep pace with market demands, our client needed to replace their outdated and unsupported advertising SDK. This was critical to overcome limitations and better support modern mobile apps on iOS, Android, and React Native.

The project was not just an upgrade—it was essential to protecting their market share and ensuring long-term viability in a niche where every millisecond and every impression counts.

Project Scope

NIX was engaged to develop a new SDK wrapper that replicated previous functionality while introducing a range of new features.

Our team covered the following:

Solution

Our core focus was on creating a new SDK wrapper for both iOS and Android based on the industry-leading Prebid SDK—an open-source, industry-standard technology that handles the core functionality of running ad auctions. This allowed us to deliver a completely new and stable solution, including all the core functionalities of the open-source Prebid SDK plus several new features to provide the stability and flexibility fuelling continuous growth.

  • Lazy loading of ad banners to improve app performance by identifying and loading non-critical ad content only when it’s about to be viewed
  • Event tracking system to capture critical data on ad impressions and user interactions, which is then pushed to dashboards, providing valuable insights for optimization

To extend reach, we also developed a React Native wrapper that connected to these native solutions, providing a single, unified codebase for cross-platform applications.

Our team also conducted full integration with Google Ads Manager, allowing publishers to leverage a powerful and industry-leading tool for their ad management needs.
