2023: A Journey of Accomplishments and Challenges Explored

Whitepaper for NIX 2023 happenings. Let’s reminisce about the most memorable moments of this year!

One more year has passed, bringing us new challenging tasks and rewarding victories. It’s high time to sum up the results and access accomplishments.

Standing on the cusp of 2024, we want to embark on what we’ve achieved in our journey throughout 2023 before closing the chapter on yet another year.

Our Projects Are Our Daily Passion And Pride

We always prioritize clients and go the extra mile to meet their needs and help them hit their goals. With this purpose in mind, we’ve started 83 absolutely new projects in 2023 and are now working on 222 cases serving 12+ industries.

Happy Clients Are Our Priority

With each project, we do our utmost to take NIX services to an even higher level, resulting in a customer satisfaction rate of 93% in 2023 and new reviews on various independent platforms such as Clutch. Clients especially highlight the transparency of NIX processes, timely project releases, prompt responses to their requests, and incredible product quality. This led to a customer return rate of 68%, which is a very impressive figure in our competitive niche.

Expanding NIX Horizons

To be highly efficient, we operate globally, adding new locations to NIX workspaces and thus broadening our horizons. In December 2023, we opened a working space in Boston, the USA, famous for its innovation and growth. This NIX branch is an opportunity for us to join Boston’s business community and fortify our relationships with local clients. 

Traveling the World

In addition to all these activities, we kept in touch with the business and IT communities, too, and attended many prominent events throughout the year, from large-scale technology exhibitions to notable conferences worldwide. NIX members participated in them as sponsors, visitors, and speakers, sharing experiences with other market players. For example, at the Mobile World Congress in Las Vegas, USA, we gave a talk revealing NIX’s expertise with sustainable mobile development and environmentally friendly apps.

In total, we attended 22 events worldwide, of which we would like to highlight the following:

• Applied Intelligence Live! in Austin, USA

Keeping up with Trends

Throughout 2023, NIX has taken an active interest in various tech domains. In each of them, we identified technologies worth mastering and implementing in our software, aiming to maintain highly professional results in a competitive environment.

This year’s main story is a variety of generative AI tools that many of us use in day-to-day work, like ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Voicemaker, and Microsoft Copilot.

As for the extended reality scene, a new big player is Apple, bringing Vision Pro with visionOS on board. And our NIX team has already started working with these solutions.

Frontend development sees a surge in innovation, too, notably with trending technologies like Jetpack Compose, React Native for Web, SwiftUI, MAUI, Next.js, Sveltejs, and Tailwindcss. 

Exploring backend development trends, we saw a mixed tech landscape, with GraphQL and Rust gaining traction while Django and Java 17 maintaining steadiness. 

The testing and automation sector witnessed rising enthusiasm for Apache Airflow, Cypress, K6 Load tests, Playwright, alongside steady contenders like Gatling, RobotFramework, SpecFlow, and Tricentis Tosca.

Of course, we couldn’t ignore popular cloud providers as well. We discovered that AWS, GCP, and systems like Kubernetes continue to trend, signaling a growing inclination towards scalable infrastructures. But our main goal is still AWS and partnership with this reliable cloud provider.

And, finally, data-related tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Prometheus showcase increasing relevance in data management and analytics, as verified by a variety of delivered solutions.

Overall, these trends underscore the dynamic landscape of technology adoption in the software industry, where constant evaluation and strategic implementation of these advancements become crucial for competitive service delivery.

New Competences Gained

Without stopping there, we at NIX keep growing professionally and developing our expertise. In 2023 alone, NIX received 51 new certifications for AWS, Microsoft, Google, Databricks, ServiceNow, and Salesforce. This way, we can exceed clients’ expectations with ever-improving services.

Developing Relationships for Growth

As part of our goal to grow and provide clients with increasingly better services each year, we’re working on our partner programs, too. In 2023, we received new statuses within the AWS program and updated our Microsoft partnership, further improving NIX’s qualifications in these areas. 

The result of our efforts is enhanced efficiency of NIX’s solutions and well-deserved industry recognition: this year, NIX earned 4 awards—AI Excellence, AVA, Stevie, and DevOps—and was included in the Global Outsourcing 100 listing by IAOP for the fourth year in a row.

NIX’s Contribution to the IT Community

We’ve also contributed to developing the IT community by providing newcomers with opportunities for growth in the technology industry. This year, in our educational space, we successfully trained 95 students in 9 courses, giving them a good start for their careers in IT. 

On top of that, we regularly hold thematic tech talks, during which our experts discuss the latest IT trends and exchange views on relevant topics about software development, testing, and project management. In 2023, we conducted 7 tech talks, receiving a very positive response from the audience. 

Growing and Evolving Together 

Of course, we don’t forget about our teammates, too, as they’re our most valuable asset. New members join NIX and stay with us for a really long time. In 2023, we celebrated many momentous anniversaries and congratulated almost 1000 NIX specialists for being with us from 3 to 20 (😱) years. And we’re sincerely happy we were able to create such a comfortable working environment where people can feel at home.

Making the World a Better Place

Last but not least among our achievements for the year is NIX’s contribution to making the world a better place.

First, we at NIX remain eco-friendly, taking multiple measures to minimize our environmental impact.

Also, as a member of the Global Suppliers Association (GSA UK), NIX upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices, which involve fostering an environment characterized by fairness, inclusivity, and balance.

And, although NIX now operates all over the world, we remember our Ukrainian roots and stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people in these troubled times. We organized a volunteer group consisting of our dedicated employees who effectively combine their work responsibilities with helping people affected by war and inspire us with their devotion. In addition, we participate in fundraising to fulfill ongoing volunteer requests and contribute to the Ukrainian cyber army protecting against digital threats.

What’s Coming Next

Believing that only the sky’s the limit, we plan to achieve even greater results next year.
