Our client is a company that provides a specialized, vertical-specific payment and insurance management software platform tailored to the unique needs of international students and their representatives. Acting as a central hub, this platform enables representative companies globally to manage student-related financial transactions. Representatives utilize the platform to notify students of tuition payments, living expenses, and insurance requirements, with both the client’s company and the students’ representatives earning commissions on these transactions.
As the client expanded its localized solutions across diverse international markets, relying primarily on a user-centric approach, it encountered a critical need for enhanced technical expertise and faced significant time-to-market pressures. To optimize internal workflows, accelerate production velocity, reduce time-to-market, and minimize operational costs, we enhanced the client’s in-house team and assisted them in developing various products within the original ecosystem.
Due to the strict regulatory environment, sensitive data, and compliance with specific industry standards, we had to ensure zero downtime and a high level of security that could safeguard the product against cybersecurity threats and leakage.
During the platform’s development, we focused on mitigating risks related to access controls within the client’s highly regulated FinTech environment to ensure compliance. Our team operated exclusively within demo and staging environments, which impacted the implementation and testing of external integrations, particularly the tokenization of credit cards. Additionally, we integrated third-party tools like Captcha, Braze, and external payment services for the client’s ecosystem.
We built a robust administrative portal utilizing an advanced technology stack, encompassing student and their representatives and payment functionalities. This included leveraging Cucumber for behavior-driven development and testing, AWS-based architecture for scalability and reliability, and containerization for efficient deployment and resource management.
