The client runs a publishing & entertainment business. In response to the decline in paper book demand and the rise of ebooks, the company identified an opportunity to serve existing readers of ebooks better and attract new ones. To this end, they were in need of a user-friendly mobile application for managing e-libraries, which would be available to users for a minimal fee. The initiative aimed to achieve two goals: generate revenue through app monetization and boost ebook sales.
Seeing the audience of Apple users as more promising, the client decided to create a native iOS application first and asked the NIX team for help. Our deep expertise in mobile development and proven UI/UX knowledge made us the natural fit for this project.
Our goal was to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for book lovers on the go, providing them with a digital mobile platform to read their favorite literary pieces and discover new ones.
The main condition was an intuitive interface that would allow users to easily navigate through a library and manage their reading routine in the most convenient way.
We developed an iOS application that elevates the reading experience, making it more enjoyable and useful. Built with Swift and TextKit, Apple’s powerful text framework, the app ensures smooth text handling and offers optimal readability, making this app the perfect companion for any bibliophile.
To create a user-friendly experience that aligns with the target audience’s needs, we initiated UI/UX development by gathering and analyzing user preferences.
Through user testing and agile iterations, we honed wireframes and mockups into a UI/UX solution that addressed our focus group’s requirements.
Empowering deeper engagement, the app offers intuitive features like built-in tracking of reading time, detailed annotation capabilities, and versatile highlighting options. All are seamlessly integrated within a streamlined interface.
The application offers a comprehensive ebook management system. Users can build their digital library by importing their existing ebooks or browsing and downloading titles directly from an integrated bookstore. Additionally, the app allows them to organize and manage their virtual bookshelf by categorizing literary pieces, placing them in folders, etc.
The tracker fuels users’ literary goals by monitoring their progress and fostering consistent engagement with written content. The app automatically logs the time users dedicate to immersing themselves in ebooks, sharing the insights with them so that they can improve their reading habits.
With this feature, it’s easy to enhance the reading experience with notes and text highlighting. The app allows saving vital information and emphasizing important parts of the book to understand them better and not miss valuable insights.
The feature streamlines the search for online books available via the app and conveniently sorted by genre. Thus, the application empowers users to discover their next captivating read and even recommends a suitable book based on their preferences, earlier choices, feedback, and more.
This intuitive iOS application has successfully entered the market, and it empowers book enthusiasts to streamline their reading routines with its clean and modern interface for seamless library management. The resulting rise in popularity of ebooks contributed to market growth and attracted a more diverse audience, fulfilling the client’s strategic vision.
Encouraged by such a promising start, the client decided to extend collaboration with NIX experts. Joining forces and moving forward together, we continue to work on the project, striving to elevate reading experiences for Android users as well.
